Received this receiver two years ago as a gift. I really enjoy it.

Very tempted to buy but without SSB and the chuffing (and not going to 30 MHz) I think I will wait for the more deluxe model. I don’t do a lot of pocket radio listening really or I would spring for this, especially for the FM performance. I sure hope they release a more deluxe version

Gander ATC up on later 8800 8900 direction last night. Also intermittent prerecorded female voice in unknown foreign language on 8888mhz last night. Repeated transmission twice while I listened then disappeared all together. Don't think it was weather.....

If I had to recommend a portable receiver, I'd say go for the PL-330. It's a reliable choice with great tuning options.

When I was a teenager, I would have just about given my right arm to have a radio like the 680.

it's like shoveling heavy snow with a 2x12x8ft board. use the 8ft is AM. Can't get real far. ssb is like using the end of the board. less to push, more available power.

The DX-286 definitely gets the nod from me. I ordered one tonight. I also own the Tecsun 680.

Tecsun sounds more noisy, but do its job with fading. Qodosen sounds excellent and agc works excellent

Nice. I did a side by side comparison with my PL-990X and the DX-286 on radio Romania. They were pretty similar
